250,000 knols will be published in the first year (2008-09)
Knol administrators officially declared that 100,000 knols are written so far in less than 6 months.

Based on the information, Krishan Maggon, a knoller (knol authors) made an estimate that 250,000 knols will be published in the first year.

I made the above entry on 30.1.2009.

Congrats Krishan Maggon for making the estimate and raising the spirits of knol authors during uncertain times.

Now once again Krishan Maggon provide the estimate for actual number of knols posted on Knol Metrics Knol.

My estimate for the next year based on comparative metrics is that 750,000 knols will be published during the second year. A logical break up is that existing knol authors write 375,000 knols and new authors who register during the second year write 375,000 knols. Actually I feel the number of knols estimated for new authors s low and there is likely to be a positive surprise in number of knols written.
