Knol administrators officially declared that 100,000 knols are written so far in less than 6 months.

Based on the information, Krishan Maggon, a knoller (knol authors) made an estimate that 250,000 knols will be published in the first year.

I made the above entry on 30.1.2009.

Congrats Krishan Maggon for making the estimate and raising the spirits of knol authors during uncertain times.

Now once again Krishan Maggon provide the estimate for actual number of knols posted on Knol Metrics Knol.

My estimate for the next year based on comparative metrics is that 750,000 knols will be published during the second year. A logical break up is that existing knol authors write 375,000 knols and new authors who register during the second year write 375,000 knols. Actually I feel the number of knols estimated for new authors s low and there is likely to be a positive surprise in number of knols written.

Knol authors need to do a lot of promotion. The google name will not take them anywhere unless they put in efforts to make their articles popular.

In the blogosphere, knol authors are not making any substantial noise. During the last 12 hours there are only around 20 blogs discussing knol and there are 1000 blogs mentioning wikipedia.

Based on the experience I had with my child, I think it is important to have a study plan right from the day one of the preparation. It is good that more and more persons are trying to prove their capability in this examination.
